Saturday, April 1, 10 am – 12 pm.
Psychoanalyst Carl Jung described synchronicity as the “acausal connecting principle” that links mind and matter, an underlying connectedness that manifests itself through meaningful coincidences that cannot be explained by cause and effect. They occur, he theorized, when a strong need arises in the psyche of an individual. Jung outlined three types of synchronicity, and quantum physicists also see the plausibility of this in examples of nonlocality.
Synchronicity, when noticed, enhances our capacity for trusting that we are on the right path. And conversely, the greater our trust, the more we notice the synchronicities in everyday life. Thus, these two elements seem connected in mutually reinforcing ways.
In our April meeting we will discuss the types of synchronicity and the many ways it manifests in – and affects – our life, including its role in increasing trust in ourself and our life direction.
Please join us and bring your own accounts of synchronicity to share elements and consequences of this profoundly transformative experience.
What is IONS? The Institute of Noetic Sciences™ founded in 1973 by Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research, education, and membership organization whose mission is supporting individual and collective transformation through consciousness research, educational outreach, and engaging a global learning community in the realization of our human potential. “Noetic” comes from the Greek word nous, which means “intuitive mind” or “inner knowing.” IONS™ conducts, sponsors, and collaborates on leading-edge research into the potentials and powers of consciousness, exploring phenomena that do not necessarily fit conventional scientific models while maintaining a commitment to scientific rigor.
The Caritas Center sponsors one of a global network of self-organizing community groups that study and discuss the work of IONS.
