Carl Jung wrote, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light but by making the darkness conscious.”

Shadow work is soul work. Becoming conscious of our shadow enables us to alter our self-sabotaging behavior so that we can achieve a more conscious, self-directed life. Our life becomes increasingly more authentic as hidden resources are tapped in which creativity and talents have remained hidden and unknown to us. In alchemical terms, shadow work is turning lead into gold.

Until we become conscious of our shadow, we see it only in projected form: in others. This leads to much misunderstanding and strife, even war. The opposite of projection is integration. Once the shadow is revealed, we find the great gift to our wholeness that it has held hostage until, through shadow work, we are willing to acknowledge and integrate it, allowing it to empower us.

In this IONS session, we will utilize simple and useful techniques to uncover our shadow and find its hidden gifts.
