Almost everyone feels that something is wrong and that things need to change. The only disagreement is about what and whom to blame and what to do about it. The real problem, however, is that we are caught in a local reality well, a phenomenon that occurs when we move towards ego, especially its shadow, and away from God consciousness. It is a product of our collective co-creation, but we can escape it individually or collectively – it is our decision.

To get out of this well and realize our fuller potential, we must employ the process of metanoia. Simply put, metanoia means profound change. It can take place physically, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually or can encompass an overall life change. As a process, metanoia begins with increasing our understanding of ontology (how things work), epistemology (how we learn and experience), and synthesis (how we bring information together to form a new gestalt). It ends with profound change as this new knowledge is integrated into an expanded and enriched worldview resulting in greater and more functional choices. Then the process begins a new cycle.

Science, the arts, and spiritual inquiry are making new and important progress towards facilitating the cycle of metanoia, but there is still much to learn from each other. Given the expertise and wisdom of the Caritas audience, we will endeavor to provide plenty of opportunity for audience participation. Please join us in creating the process of metanoia for a new and more purposeful reality.
